Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician/Unit Technician to support patient care under RN supervision, assist in care management, reinforce education, and maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment. You will monitor patients, assist with ADLs, record vitals, prepare records, assist with labs, and collaborate with the care team.

A high school diploma is required with 3–6 months in patient services; CPI and BLS certifications must be completed within stated

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
3–6 months of experience in a customer service/patient service environment.
Valid Driver's License.
CPI certification within 120 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 120 days of hire/transfer date.
Preferred: post-high school medical assistant training.
Preferred: experience obtaining vital signs.

Responsibilities

Monitor patients and the environment, document observations, and maintain a safe unit.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide comfort and support.
Take and document patient vital signs, height, and weight as directed.
Prepare medical records, collect specimens, and assist with laboratory processes.
Support the multidisciplinary team in developing patient treatment plans.
Maintain supplies and ensure compliance with infection control and safety policies.
