Location: Children's Medical Center Dallas

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Type: Remote

PLEASE NOTE:Only fully licensed Therapist to practice independently within the state of Texas will be considered: LCSW, LPC, or LMFT no LPC-A or LMSW will be considered. This role is responsible for managing a caseload of patients and does not carry responsibilities of managing the day-today operations or management of a healthcare facility.

Summary:
This position specializes in triaging phone consultations from pediatric primary care providers while providing behavioral health guidance/support and connecting them to appropriate services or resources for their patients. Additionally, providing behavioral health education (both in person and virtually) to providers and their practice staff within the geographical area that we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt, telephonic triage of primary care physicians' patients in need of behavioral health (BH) services; provide consultation to primary care provider(s) (PCPs) for a full array of BH disorders; provide appropriate resources for children and families based on consultation with PCP, all while maintaining statewide metric and program guidelines.
  • Responsible for coordinating consultations with psychiatry team in adherence to our Statewide metric and program expectations.
  • Assess for risk of suicidality and safety to provide appropriate interventions and level of care during the consultation.
  • Discuss psychotherapeutic interventions, either in-person or telephonically as clinically indicated by the PCP with the PCP.
  • Utilize the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of behavioral/mental health patients.
  • Develop and facilitate professional education on behavioral and mental health issues for behavioral health team and providers across the state.
  • Effectively communicate with pediatric partners and provide training as needed on identification of behavioral health issues.
  • Perform other duties, including administrative duties, critical incident stress interventions (CISM), and special projects as required. Responsible for submitting charges for assessments and services when appropriate in accordance with the billing matrix for the department.

How You’ll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years post-graduate experience in behavioral health required
  • At least 5 years post-graduate experience in behavioral health preferred
EDUCATION
  • Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Social work, psychology, counseling or marriage and family therapy required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Licensed in Texas for independent clinical practice in social work, counseling, psychology or marriage and family therapy, within 6 months of hire Req
