Qualifications

• 3+ years of behavioral health billing coding experience.
• Experience with NJMHAPP and commercial, Medicare, Medicaid payors.
• Proficiency with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Billing certificates (CPB, CMRS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Submit claims to NJMHAAP, commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, state and county payors.
• Follow-up on outstanding claims and resolve denials promptly.
• Use payer portals for submission, eligibility checks and follow-up.
• Review payer rejections and reporting in clearinghouse.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing codes and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local billing rules.
• Communicate with clients about billing inquiries and options.
• Collaborate with Quality and Compliance to optimize workflows.
