Job summary

Preferred Behavioral Health Group in New Jersey is seeking a Behavioral Health Medical Billing Coding Specialist for the Billing Department at Office 52 Hyers Street, Toms River. The role requires at least 3 years of behavioral health billing coding experience and expertise with NJMHAPP, commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and state payors.

Experience in both for-profit and non-profit settings is preferred, with strong accuracy in complex billing environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of behavioral health billing/coding experience.
• Experience in both for-profit and non-profit behavioral health settings preferred.
• Proficient with commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, state and county payor portals.

Responsibilities

• Submit claims to NJMHAAP, commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, state and county payors following payer-specific rules.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve denials in a timely manner.
• Use payer portals for claim submission, eligibility checks and follow-up.
• Review payer rejections and reporting in clearinghouse; maintain knowledge of billing guidelines.
