Job summary

The Refuge in the Ocala National Forest is hiring a Behavioral Health Associate to monitor and support clients in our care during day and evening shifts (7:00 am–3:30 pm and 3:00 pm–11:30 pm).

Responsibilities include safety checks, observation of patient behavior, timely documentation in medical records, and assisting with activities of daily living while coordinating with nursing staff. CPR and de-escalation training are required or provided after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate urgency for patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure well-being of patients and provide a supportive environment.
• Conduct safety checks and supervise at 15-minute intervals as required.
• Document clinical information in patient records.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Interact with patients, observe behaviors and communicate with nursing staff.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Record vital signs and other measurements as assigned.
• Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups.
