Job summary

Peak Behavioral Health in Santa Teresa, NM seeks a Behavioral Health Associate II to support the treatment team onsite. The role involves monitoring patients, providing care, and assisting in data collection and crisis response under licensed supervision.

Onsite position with rewards including structured duties and active patient engagement in daily programs. Requires high school diploma and relevant BHA experience; CPR and de-escalation training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year experience as a BHA required.
• One or more years' experience working with the specific population of the facility required.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of patients and provides a safe, positive, supportive environment under supervision.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and daily living tasks.
• Conducts safety checks and ensures supervision per guidelines.
• Checks patients for contraband and manages valuables and belongings.
• Interacts with patients, observes behaviors, and reports significant observations to supervisor.
• Engages patients in activities to support treatment goals.
• Facilitates educational groups on social, coping and independent living skills.
• Takes and records vital signs and reports changes to charge nurse.
• Keeps patient records timely and accurate.
• Applies de-escalation techniques and assists with restraints when necessary.
• Supports admissions, discharges, and transportation coordination as needed.
• Participates in rehabilitation programs and teaching strategies to promote wellness.
