Job summary

Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga is seeking a Full Time Behavioral Health Associate to support patients, promote safety, and assist with daily living activities. You will observe, document, and communicate patient needs to nursing staff while maintaining a compassionate, professional approach.

Role requires a High school diploma and CPR/de-escalation certification; six months+ experience with the target population is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate urgency for patient safety and provide excellent customer service.
Ensure the well-being of patients and a structured environment.
Conduct safety checks with 15-minute supervision intervals as required.
Document clinical information in the patient’s medical record.
Assist in providing a safe, comfortable environment for patients and staff.
Interact with patients and communicate observations to nursing staff.
Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
May obtain vitals, height and weight and document.
Facilitate educational groups covering social skills, coping, anger management and independent living.
Engage patients to achieve treatment goals.
Complete and maintain required documentation and assist with incidents/paperwork.
May transport patients as needed.
Maintain a positive, empathetic attitude and address patient concerns.
