Job summary

Bayside Marin is seeking a compassionate caregiver to provide personal care services to residents under clinical supervision. You will support daily living activities, monitor safety and comfort, and document care and observations in the resident records.

You will work to create a positive environment, engage residents in social and rehabilitative activities, and communicate concerns promptly to nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least six months of experience working with the facility's resident population preferred.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available on hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services including activities of daily living.
• Document vital signs and patient records accurately.
• Monitor patient safety and assist with safety checks.

Job description

Purpose Statement

Responsible for providing personal care services to patients at the facility under the direction of clinical or nursing leadership. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards patients and consistently prioritize patient safety. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure the well‑being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision is performed at 15‑minute intervals as required by special precautions or individualized supervision guidelines.
• Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in the patient’s medical record.
• Assist in creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
• Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration and changing bed linens.
• Obtain patient vital signs, height and weight as assigned and document in the patient record.
• Facilitate patient educational‑rehabilitative groups covering topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills.
• Engage patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
• Complete and maintain required documentation; assist with follow‑up and paperwork as required for incidents and events that may occur in the facility.

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Bayside Marin varies depending on a wide array of factors, including location, role, skill set and level of experience. The following measurable hourly range is applicable for roles that may be hired in California:

California: $25.00 – $26.00 per hour

Education / Experience / Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least six months of experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.

Licenses / Designations / Certifications

• CPR and de‑escalation and restraint certification required (training available on hire and offered by the facility).
• RADT certification.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
• Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to provide proof of age as required for this position.
