What You’ll Do
  • Support children’s social–emotional development by using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) techniques.
  • Plan and lead PBIS-based activities that help children learn skills like emotional regulation, problem‑solving, and positive interactions.
  • Provide one‑on‑one behavioral support to children displaying challenging behaviors.

  • Participate in weekly team meetings to review progress and identify new strategies to support children’s success.
  • Attend PBIS staff meetings, trainings, and monthly team meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
  • Keep PBIS materials and equipment organized and inventoried.
  • Communicate regularly with the Mental Health Manager.
  • Serve as a positive advocate for Head Start in the community.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Consistent punctuality and dependability.
  • Commitment to Head Start’s goals, philosophy, and mission.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques and strategies.
Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Kneel, stoop, bend, reach, and sit on the floor daily.
  • Play with active children.
