Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant to support behavioral health units in Wisconsin. The role involves assisting with ADLs, patient orientation, safety, and vital sign monitoring under RN guidance.

Eligible for benefits, and schedule details allow school and work balance. Prior nursing assistant training and BLS certification are required, with ongoing credential maintenance. This position emphasizes patient care and teamwork in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA).
• Maintain annual hospital-based certifications (DNV, DHS, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists, monitors and/or maintains patient activities of daily living (ADL's).
• Orients patient and family/significant others to the unit and hospital.
• Escorts patients to tests, meals, activities and manages their behavior.
• Performs vital signs on patients.
• Receives direction from the RN and documents observations in medical records.
• Defuses and reports crisis situations and uses proper procedures.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment and follows safety policies.
• Performs patient rounding and documents appropriately.
