Job summary

Hillcrest Commons Nursing & Rehab Center in Massachusetts is seeking a Behavioral Health Aide to support residents on the behavioral unit. You will maintain a current CNA certification in Massachusetts, assist with personal care, and provide therapeutic programming to residents with mental health needs.

• Must hold a current CNA certification in Massachusetts.
• Provide care for residents with various mental health needs and behaviors.
• Complete CNA program within 120 days of hire as required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Be expected to maintain a current and valid CNA Certification in Massachusetts.
• Work with residents having various mental health needs and/or aggressive behaviors.
• Assist on the unit and provide behavioral support when needed.
• Provide therapeutic programming (running group activities etc)
• Chart activity logs
• Monitor hallways and provide redirection to residents if needed.
• Act as a role model for residents (pro-social behavior, group participation)
• Maintain safety standards for residents at all times.
• Monitor, record and document observations of resident’s behavior.
• Provide personal care to residents if needed (I.e. toileting, feeding, positioning)
• Instruct and counsel residents on positive behavioral aspects.
• Maintain and manage clean and safe environment for residents.

Under the direction of the Program Director/Assistant, the Behavioral Health Aide provides support to all residents on the behavioral unit. The Behavioral Aide helps to promote a highly structured environment for residents daily, with the goal of improving the individual’s behavior/quality of life.

As a Behavioral Health Aide, You Will

• Be expected to maintain a current and valid CNA Certification in Massachusetts

Pay Rate: $20 - $24 per hour

Weekend and Evening shift differentials available

Must complete CNA program and obtain certification within 120 days of hire through facility funded classes
