Summary
As a Behavioral Health Advisor you will assist individuals with mental health diagnoses to live more independently and adjust to life in the community while integrating recovery and resiliency principles. You will support the development of interdependence, self‑directed care, and community involvement. Reports to Residential Supervisor or Assistant Program Director.
Schedule
- FT (40 hrs) Sunday – Thursday 11pm – 7am (overnight)
- PT (24 hrs) Friday & Saturday 11am – 11pm
Wage Information
Hourly Rate: Base $19.00/hr. Potential higher starting rates based on education and experience. Awake overnight shift differential $1.00/hr for hours 10pm – 6am.
Job Description
- Participate in development and implementation of each individual's Treatment/Support/Recovery Plan.
- Assist with management of symptoms and establishment of recovery plan.
- Support skill building for independent community living.
- Utilize community resources to promote integration and independence.
- Communicate with team, family, agencies, and community for relevant information.
- Provide medical care support and follow health recommendations.
- Prepare meals and encourage dietary adherence where regulations allow.
- Model and mentor team members; provide shadowing and training.
- Conduct fire drills and manage emergency situations during assigned shifts.
- Assist with medication monitoring and/or administration.
- Learn and model trauma‑informed care principles: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, empowerment.
- Commit to promoting cultural, racial, linguistic, and gender equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle for trainings, meetings, and appointments.
- Able to work flexible hours.
