Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health - Acute 7A in Beaumont, TX. The RN provides professional nursing care, directs licensed vocational nurses, and supports medical staff under ANA standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas.
• BLS certification.
• Unit specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and develop a care plan based on assessment and nursing diagnosis.
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel with attention to patient safety and staff capability.
• Administer medications, including psychoactive medications, correctly.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and unit activities per standards.
• Clarify orders or treatment regimens when there is doubt about accuracy or efficacy by consulting with the licensed practitioner.
• Perform daily nursing groups as directed by the treatment team.
