Behavioral Direct Support Professional - Day Program

Mercer County, NJ

Full Time: $20.00 per hour

Who We Need:

We are currently looking for Behavioral Direct Support Professionals to join our Residential Team in Mercer County. Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with daily living; cooking, cleaning, activities and community involvement, as well as personal hygiene
  • Administer medications and complete appropriate documentation
  • Accompany individuals to and from appointments.
  • Implement Behavioral Plans: Follow individualized behavior intervention plans designed by behavior analysts or other Specialists, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Crisis Management: Recognize signs of escalation and intervene promptly and appropriately to de-escalate situations, using approved behavioral techniques and interventions.
  • Documentation: Accurately record behavioral incidents, progress notes, and any other relevant data as required by the program or regulatory bodies.
  • Support in Community Activities: Assist individuals in participating in Community activities, fostering inclusion and social engagement.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including other BDSP's supervisors, clinicians, and family members, to ensure a cohesive approach to care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Valid driver's license required (less than 3 suspensions and/or points in the past 3 years)
  • Previous experience working with behavioral clients and willingness to participate in the agency's ongoing. Applied Behavioral Training Program
  • Prior experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings
  • Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting - 25 pounds, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbally and written)
