Job summary

Road to Responsibility in Massachusetts seeks a Behavioral Clinician to lead clinical supports for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will provide oversight, develop and implement evidence-based interventions, and mentor staff working in residential and day programs.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and ongoing staff development to ensure high-quality, person-centered clinical services.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field as required.
  • Massachusetts clinical licensure (BCBA/LABA/LICSW/LMHC) required.
  • Minimum 3 years supporting individuals with developmental and behavioral disabilities.
  • Experience with functional behavior assessments and behavior interventions.
  • Strong PBS knowledge and trauma-informed care approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and consultation to residential and day programs.
  • Conduct FBAs and develop individualized BSPs.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and revise intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide ongoing staff training and crisis intervention support.
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and policy alignment.
  • Participate in treatment planning and professional development activities.
  • Onboard and mentor new staff; foster partnerships with families and providers.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and person-centered care initiatives.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Clinician provides clinical oversight and behavioral consultation for residential and day programs serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Working closely with program leadership and interdisciplinary teams, the Behavioral Clinician develops and implements evidence-based behavioral interventions, provides staff training and coaching, and ensures high-quality, person-centered clinical services.

This position requires excellent clinical judgment, experience with positive behavior supports, and a commitment to trauma-informed care that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical oversight and consultation to assigned residential and day programs.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Design, implement, monitor, and revise evidence-based behavioral interventions.
  • Partner with Program Directors, Managers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality clinical services and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide ongoing staff training, coaching, and crisis intervention support to promote effective implementation of behavior plans.
  • Monitor individual progress and adjust interventions based on data and clinical outcomes.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, reports, and required records.
  • Ensure compliance with DDS, DMA, agency policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, treatment planning, and professional development activities.
  • Support onboarding and mentoring of new staff members.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with individuals served, families, guardians, clinical providers, and community partners.
  • Contribute to agency initiatives that promote quality improvement and exceptional person-centered care.
Qualifications Required
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.
  • Independent Massachusetts clinical licensure such as:
  • BCBA
  • LABA
  • LICSW
  • LMHC
  • Minimum of three years of experience supporting individuals with developmental, intellectual, and behavioral disabilities.
  • Minimum of three years of experience or advanced training in functional behavioral assessment and behavior intervention.
  • Strong knowledge of Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS), trauma-informed care, and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required state and agency training.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings, including CORI, DDS, DPPC, and other applicable agency requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex behavioral or mental health needs.
  • Experience working in residential or community-based human services programs.
