Job Description
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking full-time Behavior Therapy Assistants to support the behavior and educational services provided to students in our Approved Private School programs and contracted charter schools. Our school programs service young children with severe and complex disabilities including autism, physical disabilities, and communication limitations; the charter school programs service school-age children with emotional disturbances, trauma, and developmental delays. This position may include travel to our additional school sites in Philadelphia and the suburbs, as well as charter schools within the metro Philadelphia area.
The Behavior Therapy Assistant will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals. The primary role involves implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans which could include but are not limited to providing direct instruction based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior (ABA/VB). The Behavior Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS). This individual will need to demonstrate flexibility in that they may be serving one student at a time or supporting a classroom teacher in an assistant role.
Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher in a related field and/or current RBT certification required.
• Experience working with children with disabilities and/or challenging behavior preferred.
• CPR/First aid certification preferred.
• Reliable transportation is required for possible travel to additional school sites.
