Job summary

Partners In Excellence is seeking a dedicated Behavior Therapist in Arden Hills, MN. The role involves delivering early intensive therapies to children with ASD, following treatment plans, and working within a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

You'll document sessions, collect data, and communicate progress to families and supervisors while maintaining HIPAA privacy. A supportive mentor system, training, and growth opportunities are provided in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required and minimum age 18.
  • Background checks conducted before start.
  • Preferred knowledge of Verbal Behavior Therapy principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct therapy to 4-6 clients under supervision and per treatment plans.
  • Document therapy services and progress notes accurately and on time.
  • Read treatment directions, collect data, and report progress to parents and staff.
  • Maintain PHI privacy per company policies and HIPAA requirements.
  • Engage with families, communicate daily progress, and support team goals.

Join us as a Behavior Therapist and be a part of an amazing team, dedicated to improving the lives of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through providing early intensive therapies to young children. Partners offers both full-time and part-time positions, working Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm.

Partners In Excellence (Partners) is a premier autism therapy center providing autism therapy services to children in a healthcare setting. Our autism therapy center provides simulated environments that reflect real-life situations, enabling the children to work on their skills one-on-one or in small groups with trained behavior therapists. Through our paid two-week premiere training program, you will be equipped with the skills needed to apply ABA techniques to implement targeted curriculum with a variety of teaching techniques. Clinical staff will provide you with supervision, ongoing coaching, and professional development opportunities as you accumulate your clinical/supervision hours. All new staff are assigned a mentor upon hire.

Responsibilities
  • Works under supervision to provide direct therapy to a team of 4-6 clients following client treatment plans ensuring goals and objectives are being met
  • Documents therapy services accurately and timely (e.g., daily treatment notes, data collection, reporting parent and Partners In Excellence communications and client information)
  • Ability to read written treatment directions, collect numeric data, and write progress notes
  • In order to effectively fulfill the duties of a BT, you will have access to protected health information (PHI) of many of Partners’ Clients. It is your responsibility to be fully knowledgeable of Partners in Excellence’s Privacy Policies and Procedures and to report any violations to their direct and/or clinical supervisor (see Partners’ Policies and Procedures – HIPAA). It is the responsibility of the BT to protect Partners’ Clients’ privacy at and away from work
  • Completes the required technical training and participates in ongoing training opportunities
  • Redirects, intervenes, observes, and monitors client behaviors
  • Ability to problem solve and make appropriate decision
  • Possesses the interpersonal skills to be playful, enthusiastic, and bring a high level of energy into the therapeutic situation
  • Ability to work with a team and accept corrective feedback, complying with supervisory direction
  • Effective communication skills with parents, co-workers, and supervisors
  • Makes sound decisions and uses good judgment when dealing with clients, parents, and co-workers
  • Demonstrates dependability and consistency in therapy and other job-related activities
  • Communicates daily progress and client concerns to the appropriate staff members
  • Organizes and cleans clients’ space and equipment
  • Assists in keeping the facility safe, organized, sanitary, and guides others to do the same
  • Assists clients with personal care including dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, food, nutrition, and diet needs
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
  • Attends and participates in meetings
  • Reports all safety concerns to the Center Manager or their direct supervisor
  • The BT is assigned to an area or areas (i.e., POD) at the Partners in Excellence’s center-based programs
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

We require candidates to have:

  • High School diploma
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Successfully passed an initial and subsequent background checks (no history of felonies, substantiated client maltreatment or vulnerable adult incidents, or disqualifying misdemeanors)

We prefer candidates to have:

  • Previous behavioral therapy experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Knowledge of teaching procedures associated with Verbal Behavior Therapy
  • General knowledge of typical and special needs clients
