Behavior Technician - Summer (Pittsburg, Kansas)

Integrated Behavioral Technologies, Inc. (IBT) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping children and their families succeed through high-quality behavioral therapy services, with a focus on rural and low-income communities across Kansas.

About this position

We are currently hiring several Behavior Technicians in Pittsburg, KS. Positions are available full-time or part-time, Monday through Friday, primarily during daytime hours, with some optional early evening sessions. These roles can be seasonal for summer break (May 23rd–August 14th), with potential opportunities to continue into the fall based on staffing and client needs.

Roles
  • Intensive Individualized Support (IIS): one‑on‑one implementation of interventions, data collection, and communication with the treatment team. Requires high school diploma and eligibility for certification in the Kansas Medical Assistance Program.
  • Tutor (RBT credentialed): one‑on‑one implementation of interventions, data collection, and communication with the treatment team. Requires 40 hours of applied behavior analysis training, working towards a degree upon hire, and a current RBT credential.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid ID, reliable transportation, and appropriate auto insurance.
  • Pass criminal background checks required by funding sources.
  • Obtain the Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) credential within 3 months of hire (may not be required depending on caseload).
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, caregivers, and team members.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule: morning, afternoon, evening between 8am‑8pm, and some weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College educated and degree‑seeking candidates.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism.
  • RBT credential at the time of hiring.
Responsibilities
  • Act professionally and treat clients with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Engage in professional development activities as outlined by IBT.
  • Conduct intervention and data collection as prescribed by the client’s treatment plan.
  • Strictly follow designated protocols to foster skill and behavior generalization.
  • Submit to occasional fidelity and competency checks.
  • Stay apprised of the client’s IBP and/or PCSP Program and demonstrate competency under supervision.
  • Complete weekly communication reports summarizing successes or concerns with both administrative and therapy tasks.
Training & Certification

Employees must achieve at least 80% accuracy on the initial IBT training within 14 days of employment. Failure to achieve 80% accuracy will result in unpaid administrative leave until the outcome can be achieved.

Compensation
