Children’s Specialized ABA, part of the Children’s Specialized Hospital Autism Center of Excellence in Newark, NJ, is hiring a Full-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). You will deliver one-on-one ABA therapy to children with ASD, under the supervision of a BCBA, in a clinical or home setting.

The role offers paid training if not certified, a 9–5 schedule on weekdays, and opportunities to develop skills, participate in data collection, and advance within the clinic’s supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• RBT certification preferred but not required; training provided.
• Prior experience with children with ASD strongly preferred.
• Reliable transportation to Newark clinic.
• Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
• Physically able to perform duties (kneeling, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs).

Join Us as a Full‑time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), 09:00-05:00 PM

As an RBT, you’ll provide one‑one ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them build communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors. You’ll work closely with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a collaborative care team to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver individualized therapy sessions in‑home or clinic‑based
• Implement behavior acquisition and reduction plans
• Use electronic tools such as CentralReach to conduct preference assessments and track data.
• Collaborate in clinical meetings and receive ongoing feedback and supervision
• Maintain program books and develop teaching materials
• Communicate progress to parents and caregivers
• Provide basic care (e.g., toileting, eating) as needed

What You’ll Need:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation
• RBT certification is preferred, but not required — if you're positive, motivated, and eager to learn, we’ll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
• Prior experience working with children—ASD experience strongly preferred
• Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
• Physically able to perform job duties (e.g., kneeling, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs., moving with children)

Work Location:

This position will provide services in a clinical setting at our Newark, NJ clinic. The role involves working on‑site as part of a collaborative team, with access to supervision, peer support, and clinic‑based resources in a structured environment.

Shift Hours:

We are seeking candidates who are available during the 9:00–5:00 time block, 5 days per week. This role is expected to offer roughly 40 hours per week.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $23–$29 per hour.

Final compensation will be based on a range of factors, such as your skills, education, experience, certifications, market conditions, and internal equity. All offers are made in alignment with applicable federal and state laws.
