Job Description
Position Summary

The Behavior Technician (RBT), under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), is responsible for implementing behavior analytic programs with learners on their caseload. The Behavior Technician reports directly to the supervising Behavior Analyst(s), who also serve as their RBT Supervisor. Working hours may include any time that A Gem of Joy ABA offers ABA services (Monday-Friday 8am-6pm), with potential for hours outside these times based on organizational needs.

Qualifications
Education
  • Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field.
Certification
  • Current, active certification as a Registered Behavior Technician.
Work Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with Autism or I/DD.
  • Preferred: Experience in direct implementation of behavior analytic programs under a BCBA’s supervision.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including rapport building with learners and families.
  • Ability to receive and incorporate feedback from supervisors.
  • Skill in integrating learning objectives into play-based or naturalistic activities.
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams).
Job Duties
  • Complete direct intervention hours (1:1) with learners as per your availability, primarily Monday-Friday 12:30-4:30pm.
  • Implement treatment plans for skill acquisition and behavior reduction as directed by the BCBA.
  • Maintain positive relationships with team members and caregivers.
  • Escalate concerns to the supervising BCBA promptly.
  • Complete session documentation, including notes, timesheets, and caregiver signatures, in a timely manner.
