Role Overview

We are seeking Behavior Technicians (BTs and RBTs) who are passionate about making a tangible difference in adult services. This position involves working directly with adults who may exhibit high intensity behaviors across a variety of community-based, residential, and day program settings.

If you are looking to build a career in ABA, social services, or psychology, this role offers unparalleled hands‑on experience, comprehensive crisis‑management training, and robust clinical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Intervention: Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill‑acquisition programs designed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Crisis Management & Safety: Utilize approved safety‑care and de-escalation techniques to safely manage and redirect highly aggressive, self-injurious, or disruptive behaviors.
  • Data Collection: Accurately track and graph behavioral data during every session using our digital data-collection systems to monitor client progress.
  • Skill Building: Assist adult clients in developing functional communication, daily living, vocational, and social skills to promote independence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with supervising BCBAs/BCBA Candidates, residential staff, and families to ensure program fidelity and consistent care.
Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred).
  • Certifications: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential is a plus.
  • Reliability: A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance (travel between local sites in the Santa Cruz area is required).
  • Resilience & Empathy: Strong emotional regulation, physical stamina, and a genuine commitment to supporting adults with complex behavioral needs.
  • Competitive Hourly Pay: $28.00 - $32.00/hour with opportunities for growth.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual starts after 90 days of service.
  • Retirement: 4% 401(k) match after 12 months of service.
  • Career Advancement: Free supervision hours for those pursuing their BCBA or BCaBA certification, plus clear pathways to leadership roles.
