Purpose of Position

The Behavior Technician (BT) is responsible for providing direct implementation of behavior analytic services for children birth to five years of age with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Summary

Under the supervision of the BCBA, the BT provides direct services for children diagnosed with ASD. All intervention services will occur in child development center classrooms, ABA Clinic, or other locations under the discretion of the BCBA.

Note: This is a part-time position 8:15 AM - 1:15 PM (25 hrs/wk).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
• Work with children 1:1 for a minimum of four hours per day.
• Implement ABA intervention for children diagnosed with ASD under supervision of the BCBA.
• Complete documentation including behavioral data collection, treatment notes, and other related documents.
• Remain current with new research and trends in ABA and related fields.
• Uphold RBT certification requirements set by BACB throughout employment.
• Meet productivity requirements and follow ethical guidelines per BACB standards.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and communicate treatment progress with the BCBA.
• Document and submit session notes immediately after sessions.
• Participate in training and conferences as required.
• Collaborate with other professionals involved in client care.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, sit, walk or run for sustained periods, including responding to safety concerns.
• Use hands and fingers to operate objects and perform tasks.
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Lift and carry children up to age 5 and objects weighing up to 35 pounds.

Other Duties

• Perform additional duties as assigned by BCBA or management.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (preferred), or RBT certification.
• Passion for ABA services and child development.
• Knowledge of developmental milestones.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain RBT certification within 30 days if not already certified.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Ability to establish community relationships and operate a computer.
• Flexibility to manage a variable schedule and travel to locations.
