The Position (full and part-time schedules available)

There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you are making a difference in the life of a child. As a FirstSteps Behavior Technician:

You will have the great privilege of teaching our little ones diagnosed with autism meaningful skills including communication, socialization, self-care, and school readiness:

  • Experience first-hand a child’s first words, first friend, first shoe tie, and much more.
  • You will work closely with and learn from teachers, parents, FirstSteps BCBAs, and behavioral health/mental health specialists.
  • You will become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with all initial credentialing fees paid by FirstSteps in conjunction with our paid training program.

  • We look for "kid people" and related work, study, or volunteer experience demonstrating an interest in child development and commitment to the care and well-being of all children.

Completed Education:

  • We will consider your application with proof of high school graduation and an interest in psychology / behavioral health / child development / mental health.
  • Graduate students in ABA may apply as Behavior Technicians and receive clinical training and supervision hours as required by the BACB.

Health & Safety Requirements:

  • Childhood vaccinations and non-reactive TB test.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit on floors and/or child-sized furniture, and quickly move from a seated position to running stance.
