Job summary

Hope Network in Kentwood, MI is seeking a Behavior Technician for full-time hours. This role focuses on direct care for learners aged 18 months to 21 years, teaching independent daily living skills in a mainly center-based setting, with potential home or community sessions based on treatment plans.

You will collect data on behaviors, collaborate with families, and ensure safe, supportive learning environments while adhering to individualized programming and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Passion for working with children in care settings.
  • Experience in healthcare, mental health, behavioral health, childcare, or residential settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, accuracy, flexibility and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one direct care with learners aged 18 months to 21 years, teaching daily living skills.
  • Collect and record data on behavior for skill acquisition and reduction goals.
  • Collaborate with team members and families to support learners.
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Follow individualized behavior programming and treatment plans.
  • Complete documentation and billing timely and accurately.

The Program Coordinator develops, coordinates, and oversees community-based programs at Resource Village that support residents of Eastpointe Commons and the surrounding community. Working under the guidance of the Director of Community Workforce Development, this role helps ensure programs align with Hope Network's mission, create positive participant experiences, and connect individuals with resources that support personal growth, stability, and success.

What You’ll Do
  • Providing one-on-one direct care with learners ages 18 months to 21 years while teaching independent daily living skills for a higher quality of life in a primarily center-based setting, with opportunities for home or community-based sessions based on treatment plan
  • Collecting and recording data on the learners’ behavior for skill acquisition and distressed behavior reduction goals
  • Collaborating and communicating with team members including the learners’ families
  • Providing a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Following individualized behavior programming
  • Adhering to diet, supplementation, and medication protocols per prescription/parent instructions
  • Completing documentation and billing both timely and accurately
