Overview
General Summary: The BY YOUR SIDE Behavior Technician directs ABA Therapy to children ages 2-21 years old in the center and in-home environments. The Behavior Technician implements skill acquisition programs and behavior management protocols under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor. The Behavior Technician collects data on target behaviors during sessions and provides comprehensive ABA Therapy for BY YOUR SIDE clients under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor. The role involves defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. The position requires reading and interpreting a variety of technical instructions, responding to inquiries from clients and families, and communicating information to BCBAs. Hours vary based on client and business needs; evening, weekend work and/or overtime may be required. Travel may be required. Starting pay: $22/hr

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct 1:1 or small group therapy to children and young adults with autism consistent with the treatment plan under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor
- Maintain targeted caseload hours of therapy per week
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines
- Implement treatment plans across multiple domains (communication, social behavior, learner readiness skills, self-care, replacement behavior, behavior reduction) as instructed by the Clinical Supervisor
- Motivate clients by adapting activities to their preferences
- Respond calmly and intentionally to challenging behavior in alignment with the client’s Behavior Intervention Plan
- Assist with assessments under supervision, when properly trained (e.g., VBMAPP, ABLLS)
- Assist with maintaining order and safety in the therapy environment
- Provide session coverage as needed to support daily operations
- Participate in staff and team meetings; coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Engage in training to increase professional knowledge via in-person, video conference, or recorded sessions
- Complete assignments related to meetings and training by due date, including make-up assignments
- Complete daily activities/routines within the center (opening/closing procedures, cleaning, organization, session materials creation, assisting other therapists)
- Collect and maintain accurate records of client performance through data collection and insurance notes on an online platform; ensure billing for all appointments
- Implementation of treatment plans across centers, homes, and communities; travel to home/community may be required
- Toilet training and diaper changing may be required
- Uphold and maintain BYS core principles, policies, and procedures
Demonstrated Competencies, Physical, Mental, & Interpersonal Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree and/or enrollment in psychology, communication disorders, education or related field preferred
- Willingness to learn about children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Interest in Applied Behavior Analysis and growth as a Behavior Technician
- Maintain quality, safety and infection control standards
- Knowledge of sensory and behavioral strategies preferred
- Ability to communicate proactively, timely, and professionally with clients, parents, operations team, BCBAs, SLPs, and OTs
- Ability to work effectively with changing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent time management with ability to multi-task and deliver high-quality work
- Professionalism in communication, timeliness, and preparedness
- Proficiency with iPad and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Environmental Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Reliable transportation for travel to and between therapy environments
- May regularly lift 10-25 pounds; may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Physical ability to move quickly, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, twist, walk, sit, stand and reach for extended periods
- Ability to respond quickly to client needs and potential emergencies
- Hours vary based on client needs; evening, weekend work and/or overtime may be required
- Prolonged computer use and extended screen time
- Work environment may include elevated noise levels
