Base pay range

$23.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Behavior Technician (BT) This is a Part Time Position

Job Description

Summary: The Behavior Technician implements ABA services to clients as written by the supervising BCBA.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy in the home and community environments.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans and programs as written by the supervising BCBA.
  • Data collection and session note submission according to company policy.
  • Collaborate with peers and supervisors.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


RBT Certification Program

  • This is an opportunity for a free certification that can increase job prospects, future income, and start a new career. All those bright hopeful feelings.
  • For every 25% completed of the course (approximately 10 hours of training), the candidate will have a live check-in with a Step Ahead ABA training specialist to review progress, answer questions, and invite to a live study session. Once check-in is completed, candidate will be sent a $100 Visa gift card. This will be reloaded on every threshold reached until program is completed or offer is rescinded due to inactivity/no contact.
  • Candidates still earn a $100 bonus upon being onboarded and completing their first test attempt. The total possible incentive is then $500.
  • Candidates must completed at LEAST 5% within the first 7 days to remain in the program. Incentives are only available once each 25% of the training is completed. Training team will encourage and support candidates in planning and understanding expectations of how to execute.


Employment Classification and Hours: Variable employee, Non-Exempt

  • Variable employees are not guaranteed a minimum number of hours.
  • If a Variable employee does not engage with a client for a duration of 3 months anytime during employment, Step Ahead ABA has the right to terminate employment.
  • Engagement with a client is defined as: rendering direct services to a client and converting a worked appointment to a timesheet.
  • At the conclusion of and/or hour reduction of any case assignment, Employee understands and agrees that it is their own duty and responsibility to request additional case assignments from our Client Care Coordinators, should they wish to resume employment with the company.

Work Environment:

This position provides in-home services. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Respecting the home of the client
  • Leaving program materials in the home
  • Physical demands
  • Sitting for an extended period
  • Playing with the client
  • May involve lifting the client
  • May involve running after the client
  • Policies and Procedures: As a Step Ahead ABA employee, you will be expected to abide by Step Ahead ABA’s rules and standards. Specifically, you will be asked to sign an acknowledgement that you have read and understand Step Ahead ABA’s rules of conduct which are included in the Employee Handbook.


Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working in another ABA practice.
