We're not going to sugar-coat it; this job isn't for everyone. As a Behavior Technician (BT), you'll help children on the autism spectrum reduce challenging behaviors and improve social, communication, and daily living skills. You will hear screaming and crying every day. Some of our kiddos need help with potty training and diaper changes. We guarantee you will get kicked, hit, spit on, and bitten on a regular basis. We also guarantee this will be one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also frequently required to stand, walk, run, use hands to assist patients in standing/sitting; reach with hands and arms; and have the agility to quickly and repeatedly transition from sitting to standing. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. is also required.
