Position Summary:
The Registered Behavior Technician, under the direct supervision of the Behavior Analyst assists in the development and implementation of behavior intervention programs for clients with challenging behavioral needs, collects data on behavior and documents progress, and collaborates with BCBA, families and staff to coach and implement behavior interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Implement and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs under the ongoing supervision of a BCBA.
● Implement strategies to teach skill acquisition and alternative replacement behaviors.
● Ability to read and identify the essential components of a written Behavior Intervention Plan and Behavioral Assessments/goals as it relates to behavioral areas of need.
● Assist family members in implementing reactive procedures for maladaptive behaviors.
● Effectively communicate with team members, work collaboratively.
● Assist BCBA with observations and data collection for assessments.
● Collect and monitor on-going behavior data and samples.
● Travel to multiple sites as necessary.
● Assist in the development of reinforcement identification procedures.
● Additional related tasks as assigned by the BCBA.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
● Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and experience in developing and evaluating programs based upon the principles of ABA.
● Conceptual understanding of all behavior analytic procedures as outlined in the RBT task list.
● Understanding of and familiarity with the characteristics for a wide range of maladaptive behaviors associated with ASD and associated developmental disabilities.
Ability to:
● Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
● Understand the needs of clients and effectively relate to learning situations.
● Establish and maintain accurate (and timely) records and files and develop comprehensive reports in alignment with insurance and company guidelines.
● Maintain the security and confidentiality of specified records and information.
● Display patience and courtesy with clients and their families.
● Have cultural sensitivity and competence when working in various settings.
● Respond appropriately in emergency/unforeseen situations.
● Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
● To lift 50 lbs. or up to 100 lbs. with assistance and/or carry any object weighing up to 25 lbs.
● Physical, mental, and emotional stamina to endure sometimes stressful conditions.
● Make appropriate judgment calls in emergent situations.
● Openly receive feedback and constructive criticism.
● Proficient skills to use company assigned software applications, e.g. Central Reach, Teams, ZOOM, etc.
Requirements:
● Maintain Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certification as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board-Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
● Pass a background check.
● Obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Related Trainings:
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and training once employed including, but not limited to: CPR, Safety Care, Fingerprinting & Background Checks, RBT training and other company in-services and training.
