What will your day look like as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?
- Registered Behavior Technicians teach individuals with autism to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce inappropriate behaviors.
- Collect data to demonstrate each client’s progress toward reaching his or her goals!
- Document using our electronic data collection software for real-time analysis.
- Collaborate in clinical team meetings to report client progress and receive feedback from the supervisor.
- You will be trained in various ABA methods by our top clinicians.
What Will You Do As A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)?
- Provide intensive one-on-one therapy to children with ASD.
- Implement behavior acquisition and behavior reduction plans.
- Conduct stimulus preference assessments.
- Collect data.
- Maintain the client's program book.
- Develop/create teaching materials.
- Provide basic care to clients (e.g., toileting, eating).
- Discuss client's daily progress with parents/caretakers.
- Work with BCBA to implement individualized goals and checklists.
- Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients.
- Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients.
- Maintain and update professional knowledge through continuing education.
Requirements For Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Travel up to 20 miles from home to client service location.
- Valid/unexpired RBT Certification if offered RBT role. (BTs with 40 hours may be considered for the role; hourly rate will be lower.)
- Previous experience working with children; ASD experience is strongly preferred.
- Reliability—ability to work a consistent schedule throughout the week.
- Access to a reliable vehicle or public transportation.
- Ability to complete physical demands of the job (frequent sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, running with children); must be able to stand and move at least 75% of the day, and lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds.
- No current vaccine mandate for employment.
