Job summary

Comprehensive Early Autism Services (CEAS) is seeking Behavior Technicians to provide 1:1 therapy for children ages 2-10 in Salem, Oregon. The role involves traveling to client homes and collaborating with a team of therapists in a highly supportive environment.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, child development, or a related field (or in progress), experience with young children or disabilities, and the ability to lift about 30 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children or individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 pounds and move easily from a seated position.
  • Willingness to travel within the Salem/Portland area and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the child in skill areas such as conversation, motor skills, self-help, and pre-academic skills.
  • Involve the child’s family in therapy sessions.
  • Collect data and use data-based decisions.
  • Learn strategies and procedures to teach children with developmental delays.
  • Attend team meetings and coordinate with a team of therapists.
  • Travel to the home of each client on the therapist's caseload.

Comprehensive Early Autism Services (CEAS) provides therapy in the home, school, and community for children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. Our program is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Location & Employment

Location: Salem, OR
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $16.00 - $21.00

Position Overview

We are currently looking for Behavior Technicians to work 1:1 with children (ages 2-10) in a highly individualized and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Working with the child in a number of skill areas, such as conversation skills, fine/gross motor skills, self‑help skills, and pre‑academic skills.
  • Integrating the child's family into therapy sessions.
  • Data collection and making data‑based decisions.
  • Learning strategies and procedures to teach children with developmental delays.
  • Attending team meetings and coordinating with a team of therapists.
  • Traveling to the home of each client on the therapist's caseload.
Qualifications
  • Must have a car and be willing to travel within the Salem/Portland area and surrounding areas.
  • Possession of, or pursuit of, a Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, child development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young children or individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 pounds and move easily from a seated position; behavior technicians often spend 80% of the time sitting on the floor with clients.
