Job summary

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors
• Ability to pass a background check with the MN Department of Human Services
• Knowledge of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations
• Willingness to travel to surrounding areas as needed
• Reliable transportation and a current driver’s license
• Clear driving record (No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years)
• Vehicle, driver’s license, and valid auto insurance per the State of Minnesota
• Fluently read, understand, speak, and write the English Language
• Dynamic communication skills, working techniques, and ability to multitask
• Working cell phone with internet access
• Experience with Positive Supports and Crisis Interventions
• A working understanding of the abstract nature of maladaptive behavior
• Ability to read, understand, and follow specific Protocols, potentially including but not limited to, Seizure Protocol, Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Reduction Protocol, etc..

Responsibilities

• Provide services to individuals who are more likely to engage in behaviors, such as physical aggression, verbal aggression, elopement, self-injurious behavior, and property destruction
• Understand and implement a variety of support plans and individual service plans
• Maintain compliance with federal and state standards and laws
• Oversee day-to-day implementation of services within a designated caseload under management guidance
• Gather and document information to support individual needs and goals
• Track and chart data daily in line with company expectations
• Communicate frequently with managers and coordinators, especially about incidents
• Uphold confidentiality and privacy of individuals and staff
• Fill in Direct Support Professional roles as needed
• Medication administration
• Assist with cash transactions, track spending, maintain receipts
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (hygiene, peri-care)
• Perform exemplary direct support duties; go above and beyond
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job purpose:

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? Are you21 years of age or older? We are looking for a Behavior Technician to provide services to the Saint Cloud and surrounding areas, up to around 20 minutes away from Saint Cloud. Our Behavior Technician position works with individuals to provide in-home care and services on their behalf, as well as contributes to the company and management team with the goal of improving and maintaining high-quality performance standards and reputations within the communities we serve.
