Job summary

Magical Moments ABA is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in Newport News, VA, for part-time direct client care under BCBA supervision. You will work in both one-on-one and small group settings, following individualized treatment plans and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role emphasizes compassionate, family-centered care, data collection with Central Reach, and ongoing professional development through clinical training.

Qualifications

• 6+ months ABA experience preferred.
• Knowledge of general ABA practices.
• At least 18+ years of age.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in one-on-one and group settings, following the treatment plan created by BCBA.
• Collect and record data on client behavior and progress using Central Reach.
• Maintain a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment for clients and families.
• Work collaboratively with therapists, providers, BCBAs, caregivers, and other professionals.
• Take direction and feedback from supervising staff (BCBA/BCaBA).
• Complete required training related to guidelines, compliance, and state/federal regulations.
• Record appointments in practice management software daily and comply with billing/payroll policies.
• Adhere to RBT ethics code and privacy policies, HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Communicate with clients, parents, and caregivers regarding progress and intervention findings.
• Collaborate with BCBAs to adjust therapy plans based on progress.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Responsibilities:

• Provide direct client care in one-on-one and group settings, following the protocols outlined in the treatment plan created by BCBA


• Collect and record data on client behavior and progress using Central Reach


• Maintain a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment for clients and families


• Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with other therapists, providers, BCBAs, caregivers, and other professionals for effective program implementation


• Ability to take direction and feedback from the supervising staff (BCBA/BCaBA)


• Complete required training related to organization guidelines, compliance, state and federal regulations


• Accurately record appointments in practice management software daily and comply with billing and payroll policies


• Adhere to RBT ethics code and ensures all patient privacy policies, HIPAA compliance and confidentiality


• Communicate with clients, parents, and caregivers regarding client progress and behavioral intervention findings


• Collaborate with BCBAs to adjust therapy plans based on client progress and emerging needs
