Kids First is a fast-growing agency servicing clients across New York, dedicated to providing quality services to individuals and families. Our therapists help children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) achieve their treatment goals through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, guided by our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts.
We seek passionate individuals eager to make a difference in the lives of our clients. More than a company, we are a community that values inclusivity, curiosity, and exceptional service with compassion.
What You Will Do
As an ABA therapist/Behavior Technician (certification assistance provided if needed), you will:
- Collaborate with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement personalized behavior reduction and skill acquisition plans.
- Provide one-on-one in-home ABA therapy to assigned clients.
- Ensure a safe and positive environment during therapy sessions at the client’s home.
- Maintain high-quality care and support to ensure client satisfaction.
- Document daily observations and report critical data to monitor progress.
- Receive supervision from BCBA, remotely or in person, to ensure proper ABA techniques are applied.
- Contribute to clients' progress in developing positive behaviors and learning new skills — if this excites you, we encourage you to apply!
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience providing ABA therapy or implementing ABA techniques in a school or home setting.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, or willingness to obtain within 3 weeks of start date — required.
- Completion of the 40-hour RBT course (or willingness to take it through our company if not completed).
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Flexibility to work part-time schedules with potential for full-time hours.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills to build rapport with clients and families.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Over 2 years of experience working with children or adolescents with autism or developmental disabilities.
- We value the right attitude — humility, patience, and passion — over experience. Informal experience working with children on the spectrum or with ABA is welcome.
