Job summary

Henry Ford Health's Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Behavior Technician to deliver evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions under BCBA supervision at our Hamtramck clinic, with occasional travel to Troy to support staffing.

The role involves 1:1 and group sessions, data collection and analysis, reporting progress to BCBA teams and families, and contributing to parent training and resource development within a multidisciplinary care team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, human development, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of direct experience with children.
  • Strong organizational and data-tracking abilities.
  • Able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to stay available for BCBA and clinical staff communication.

Responsibilities

  • Implement ABA interventions under BCBA supervision for 1:1 and group sessions.
  • Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform treatment adjustments.
  • Communicate progress through reports and meetings with BCBA and families.
  • Support parent training and develop teaching resources with the team.
  • Collaborate with SLPs, diagnostic specialists, and feeding therapists to coordinate care.

** Shift Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm - No Weekends**

Job Location / Address: **9100 Brombach St, Hamtramck & **2528 Livernois, Troy

This position is based primarily at our Hamtramck location and is expected to work there on a regular basis. While the role is posted for both the Hamtramck and Troy locations for staffing flexibility, travel to the Troy location may be required on an occasional basis to support operational or staffing needs. Candidates should be flexible and willing to work at either site when necessary, though the position will typically 100% based in Hamtramck.

About the Role

As a Behavior Technician, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and related disorders. Working collaboratively with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), you'll deliver evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions in our clinic-based program, implementing individualized treatment plans through 1:1 and group sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement evidence-based ABA interventions and behavioral treatment plans under BCBA supervision, delivering 1:1 and group therapy sessions tailored to each child's unique needs
  • Collect and analyze behavioral data with precision, tracking patient progress and identifying meaningful patterns to inform treatment adjustments
  • Communicate progress effectively through detailed reports and collaborative meetings with BCBAs and families, ensuring transparency and partnership in each child's therapeutic journey
  • Support parent training initiatives and contribute to the development of engaging program materials and teaching resources that extend learning beyond the clinic
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Speech Language Pathologists, diagnostic specialists, and feeding therapists to provide comprehensive, coordinated care

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, human development, or related fields is preferred and will strengthen your foundation for this therapeutic role.
  • Minimum 6 months of direct experience working with children, demonstrating your commitment to supporting young learners and their development.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation—you'll thrive managing individualized treatment plans while maintaining meticulous behavioral data records.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, adapting seamlessly to clinical environments and evolving client needs.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to support our clinical mission—willingness to maintain availability for communication with BCBAs, clinical staff, and the CADD Medical Director as needed to ensure continuity of care.
