Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Behavior Support Professional to join our team. This role focuses on developing and implementing Behavior Support Plans to help individuals with behavioral challenges.

Completes observations and Functional Behavioral Assessments, collaborates with families and the team, and trains the support staff to implement plans.

This position offers the opportunity to work with adults with IDD and mental health needs, with competitive hourly pay of $22.18.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience developing and implementing BSPs under supervision by a Master’s degree holder.
• Ability to support individuals with behavioral challenges
• Ability to write and edit plans incorporating Positive Behavior Supports
• Competency in writing supports plans and verbal communication skills
• Capacity to train and mentor others
• Ability to perform duties with limited supervision
• Experience working with adults with IDD and with mental health diagnosis or autism

Responsibilities

• Completes observations and conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) of presenting issues.
• Collaborates with the person, family and team in the development and maintenance of a behavior support plan.
• Trains and mentors the person’s support team on how to implement plans.
• Completes documentation including data collection, progress reporting, and BSP development/revisions.
• Provides timely documentation per policy including data collection and progress reporting.

• Completes observations in various settings and conducts comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) of presenting issues from aggression, self-injurious behavior, adverse mental health symptoms, law offending behavior- sexual or other identified presenting issues
• Collaborates with the person, their family and team in the development and maintenance of a behavior support plan.
• Trains and mentors the persons support team on how to implement plans.
• Completes documentation including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the Behavior Support Plan (BSP)
• Provides timely documentation, per policy, including but not limited to data collection, progress reporting, development and revision of the BSP.

Earn $22.18/hour in this position.
