Job summary

Bethel School District is hiring a part-time paraeducator for 3.5 hours per day across 178 days per year. The role focuses on behavior support and instructional assistance under supervision, including tutoring and maintaining student records.

Candidates must meet state requirements, complete the FCS and Paraeducator certificates, pass the ParaPro test or hold equivalent credits, and pass a post-offer physical and background checks. Requires a WA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age; and
• Hold high school diploma or its equivalent; and one of the following
• Successfully passed the ETS Para Pro test, AA degree, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits, or completion of a registered apprenticeship program by WA State Dept. of Labor & Industries
• Must complete FCS and General Paraeducator Certificate Program if funded

Responsibilities

• Provide behavior and instructional support to students as directed by the behavior specialist
• Tutor students in prescribed learning activities and maintain student records
• Assist with classroom management and implementation of IEP/Behavior plans
• Prepare teaching aids and assist with test administration
• Work itinerant assignments and collaborate with certificated staff
