Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher(s).
• Assist the classroom teacher(s) in implementing IEP and Behavior Plans.
• Keep the Teacher of Record informed of academic progress and concerns.
• Assist with student discipline and behavior support plans.
• Tutor individual students or groups.
• Check students' work and assist with make-up work.
• Provide escort and assistance to students.
• Operate audio-visual equipment and classroom computers for instruction.
• Assist with class record keeping and gathering materials.
• Supervise students as assigned by staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and progress.
• Maintain positive relationships with school staff.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by teachers or admins.

180 Days

Pay- $17.00/hour

Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate with staff, students, and visitors
• Ability to communicate with supervisor(s) in person and in writing to receive assignments/directions
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• Experience working with Special Needs Students Preferred
• May require sensory interpretation training and student restraint training

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform physical labor without restrictions such as bending, lifting, stooping, and carrying objects
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds

Daily Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher(s)
• Assist the classroom teacher(s) in the implementation of the individual students’ IEP and Behavior Plans
• Keep the Teacher of Record informed of academic progress and behavioral concerns
• Assist classroom teacher with student discipline and implementation of individualized behavior support plans
• Tutor individual students or groups of students
• Check students’ work and assist students with make-up work
• Provide escort and assistance to students
• Alert and inform the classroom teacher of any problems or specific information concerning individual students
• Operate audio-visual equipment and computers for instructional purposes
• Assist the classroom teacher with student class record keeping
• Gather materials requested by the classroom teacher
• Supervise students as assignedby the building administrator(s) or classroom teacher(s)
• Maintain the same high level of confidentiality on student information, work, and progress
• Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all school personnel at all times
• Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities assigned by the classroom teacher and/or building administrator(s)
• Operate and use technology (iPad, Computer, Apps, CANVAS, etc.)
