Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist to join a multidisciplinary team. You will support BCBA-led programs in group homes located in Ocean and Monmouth counties, applying evidence-based behavioral strategies to help individuals progress.

This full-time role offers on-site collaboration, paid orientation, and a salary range of $55,000–$61,000, with benefits starting on day one and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Master's in behavior analysis or psychology required or strongly preferred.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required or expected.
Experience providing behavior support to individuals with autism or related disabilities.
Strong data collection and reporting skills.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team and follow BCBA guidance.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist BCBA with assessment and treatment of challenging behaviors.
Consult ISP Plan goals/objectives and environmental supports.
Train and monitor direct support professionals in behavioral strategies.
Collect data and input into Excel databases.
Input notes regarding behavioral services.
Provide the required hours of service per consumer weekly.
Observe and assess adherence to BCBA BSP and update as needed.

The Behavior Specialist reports directly to a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and provides clinical support to the group homes located in Ocean and Monmouth county.

Salary: $55,000 - $61,000

What we look for in YOU:

Assist BCBA with the assessment and treatment of challenging behaviors.

Consultation on ISP Plan Goals/Objectives, as well as environmental supports.

Training, oversight, and monitoring of direct support professionals with respect to behavioral support and therapeutic interactions.

Data collection and inputting data into excel database.

Input notes regarding behavioral services.

Provide specific number of hours of services per consumer in required settings per week.

Conduct observations and integrity assessments of BCBA's current BSP per Individual.

You'd make a great Behavior Specialist if you have:

Master's in behavior analysis, psychology, or a related field and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification

At least 2 years providing behavior support to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectually /Developmentally Disabled clients

Be 18 years of age or older (required).

Be able to attend ten days of paid onsite orientation on weekdays.

Have a valid non-provisional driver's license.

Solid interpersonal skills required to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team

Demonstrated experience and skills in presentations

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication experience
