Scranton Counseling Center, the largest behavioral health provider in the area, is looking for Behavior Specialists. Both full and part-time per diem positions are available. Specific duties involve delivery of specialized clinical services to children and families in settings other than the Center, including assessment, program design, and implementation of behavior modification intervention plans for children/adolescents on the autism spectrum.
Responsibilities include assessment of behavioral issues, identification of behavioral goals and specific intervention techniques, provision of ongoing monitoring of progress, serving as a primary lead treatment team member, coordinating and participating in inter‑agency meetings, and providing regular supervision and shadowing to TSS workers.
The Center employs a strength‑based systems approach to treatment and incorporates a CAASP model, which is child‑centered, family‑focused, least restrictive, and culturally sensitive.
Requirements include a graduate mental health degree and experience, and a valid Pennsylvania License as a Behavior Specialist, social worker, professional counselor, or psychologist. Individuals without these credentials cannot be considered. Ability to work a flexible schedule is also required.
Pennsylvania Act 33 child abuse, Act 34 criminal records, and FBI criminal background clearances, and a valid Pa Driver’s License are required.
