Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis (IABA) is seeking a dedicated Behavior Interventionist in Los Angeles, CA. In this part-time role, you will implement personalized treatment plans for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities including Autism.

As a Behavior Interventionist with IABA, you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of children and adolescents with developmental disabilities like Autism by implementing personalized treatment plans, encouraging skill development, and providing the resources and support needed for our clients to achieve their goals!

Using the evidence‑based principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you will provide one‑on‑one support in the home, school, and community, using our positive‑only methods to encourage desired behaviors and enhance play, self‑care, cognitive, social, and communication skills.

For over 40 years, IABA has been providing high quality, person‑centered treatment for children and their families. We take great pride in the work we do, and continue to advocate for the community we serve.

Paid, hands‑on training provided, including shadowing sessions with a supervisor

Schedules: Afternoon availability needed!

Part‑Time Opportunities
  • Schedule is dependent on client needs – Afternoon
  • Sessions range from 2‑4 hours
  • Example: 3pm – 6:30pm; 4:30pm – 6:30pm
Responsibilities
  • Conduct one‑on‑one direct ABA therapy sessions in school or in home
  • Assist the client throughout the day with academic & daily living tasks
  • Teach adaptive play, self‑care, cognitive, social, and communication skills
  • Encourage the practice of desired behaviors with positive reinforcement
  • Collect and analyze data to track client progress
  • Ensure a safe, encouraging environment where kids and teens can be themselves
  • Advocate for individuals with disabilities in all settings
  • Uphold the highest standard of ethical practices
  • US work authorization
  • Must pass criminal background checkNegative TB test results
  • Reliable computer and internet access available daily
  • Reliable transportation with CA driver’s license, proof of auto insurance & willingness to drive throughout SFV area
  • Interest and enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents, including the ability to be silly and have fun playing
  • Patience and empathy when addressing challenging behaviors

  • Reliability and dedication to working daily with our clients
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds, walk, run, bend, squat, kneel, sit and play on the floor, stand for long periods of time, and engage in fast‑paced physical activities with children and teens
  • Willingness to work with clients of all ages (2‑23), all behaviors (including aggressive or destructive behaviors), and all support needs (including hygiene, feeding, and mobility support)

Pre‑Employment Requirements

This role involves unsupervised, direct support of children and/or adults in home, school, and community settings. Duties include implementing behavior plans, managing behavioral escalations, assisting with daily living needs, entering private residences, and accessing confidential health and personal information.

Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable pre‑employment requirements, which may include verification of education, employment history, credentials, motor vehicle records (if applicable), and other role‑or state‑specific requirements.
