Job summary

Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis (IABA) is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children and adolescents in home, school, and community settings in the Greater LA area.

You will use positive-only methods to develop play, self-care, cognitive, social, and communication skills while collecting data to track progress and advocate for clients. Training is provided; evening/weekend opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

  • US work authorization
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Negative TB test results
  • Reliable computer and internet access daily
  • Reliable transportation, CA driver's license, proof of auto insurance and willingness to drive throughout LA area
  • Interest and enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents, including ability to be silly and have fun playing
  • Patience and empathy when addressing challenging behaviors
  • Commitment to positive-only methods and to high ethical standards
  • Reliability and dedication to daily work with clients
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and engage in active tasks with children and teens
  • Willingness to work with clients of all ages (2-23) and all support needs

Job description

As a Behavior Interventionist with IABA , you will have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of children and adolescents with developmental disabilities like Autism by implementing personalized treatment plans, encouraging skill development, and providing the resources and support needed for our clients to achieve their goals!

Using the evidence-based principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you will provide one-on-one support in the home, school, and community , using our positive-only methods to encourage desired behaviors and enhance play, self-care, cognitive, social, and communication skills.

For over 40 years , IABA has been providing high quality, person-centered treatment for children and their families. We take great pride in the work we do, and continue to advocate for the community we serve.

Paid, hands-on training provided, including shadowing sessions with a supervisor

WAGE RANGE: $20-28 per hour

LOCATION : Greater LA Area (Open cases in Downtown, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Culver City, Inglewood, South LA, Huntington Park, etc.)

HOURS : Full & Part Time Positions Available!

Full Time: 30+ hours per week, 130+ hours a month

Monday-Friday 8:00am- 6:30pm +½ weekend day

Monday-Friday 8am-3pm minimum

Part Time Schedule Options:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8am-3pm

or Tuesday/Thursday 8am-3pm

  • Willingness to work with clients of all ages (2-23), all behaviors (including aggressive or destructive behaviors), and all support needs (including hygiene, feeding, and mobility support)

Pre-Employment Requirements
This role involves unsupervised, direct support of children and/or adults in home, school, and community settings. Duties include implementing behavior plans, managing behavioral escalations, assisting with daily living needs, entering private residences, and accessing confidential health and personal information.

Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include verification of education, employment history, credentials, motor vehicle records (if applicable), and other role- or state-specific requirements.
