Job summary

Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking compassionate and flexible Behavior Interventionists to support adults with intellectual disabilities or Autism in Saint Albans, Vermont. The role involves collaborating with a team to implement treatment plans and provide therapeutic behavioral support.

Ideal candidates demonstrate patience, reliability, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations. Training is provided, and a High School Diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Strong team player with patience and empathy.
• Ability to validate individuals calmly during challenging situations.
• Experience in therapeutic support preferred, but willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Participate as part of a team to support skill-building per the Treatment Plan.
• Manage maladaptive behaviors and provide behavioral support per Behavior Support Plans.
• Assess and adjust environment to provide proper support and supervision.
• Develop positive therapeutic relationships.
• Support individuals with communication needs.
• Provide personal and/or medical care as needed.
• Document progress on program goals.
