Job Title

Student Success Coach (Behavior Interventionist Assistant)

FLSA Classification

Non-exempt, hourly employee

Standard Hours per Day

7 hours per day (excluding a 30-minute unpaid meal break)

Work Days

181 days (days when students are scheduled to attend school)

Work Year

Works all days when students attend school, plus registration, opening day, and two days at year-end.

Salary Schedule & Benefits

Paid on the "Instructional Assistants" salary schedule, benefits on "Support Staff" schedule. Starting at $21.63/hour.

Reports To

Principal and Associate Principal

Supervises

No direct supervision of others

General Summary of Duties

Work directly with students to increase positive behavior interventions and support, providing leadership to design and implement behavioral programs, serving as liaison between students and teachers, and supporting classroom strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Participate in behavioral meetings and develop behavioral plans or assessments.
  2. Consult with social workers, counselors, and administrators.
  3. Review behavioral data and referrals.
  4. Orient new students to school expectations and procedures.
  5. Assess student interests and help set goals.
  6. Engage in PBIS team and grade level meetings.
  7. Participate in professional development on behavior support.
  8. Involve parents in intervention plans and provide support strategies.
  9. Maintain records to evaluate program effectiveness.
Entry-Level Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
  • Experience with school-age children with special needs preferred.
  • Must meet paraprofessional requirements, pass background checks, and have at least an associate’s degree or passing ParaPro assessment.
  • Ability to perform essential functions and understand developmental behaviors of students with disabilities.
Performance Aptitudes
  • Data utilization, human interaction, equipment use, verbal and mathematical aptitude, functional and situational reasoning.
Physical and Environmental Requirements

Moderate physical effort, visual and auditory discrimination, performed mostly in non-adverse conditions.
