Job summary

Catholic Charities Disabilities Services is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to provide comprehensive behavioral services and develop individualized treatment plans. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate needs and design effective interventions.

The role requires a master's degree in a relevant field, licensure or certification as appropriate, and experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in behavior analysis or a closely related field approved by OPWDD or applicable psychology/behavioral disciplines.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and implementing behavior support plans.
• BCBA certification or NYS license in mental health counseling with approved specialized training in functional assessment and behavior support plan development.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral services, including assessment, evaluation, consultation, and development of behavior management and treatment plans.
• Educate and train staff or caregivers in behavioral, psychological, and related services.
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluations and recommendations from care managers and individuals served.

As theBehavior Intervention Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:

• Providing behavioral services which include assessment, evaluation, consultation, intervention, development of behavioral management plans, service plans and goals and treatment services, as required by regulation and/or the needs of the individual being served.
• Providing education and training in areas pertinent to behavioral, psychological and associated services.
• Developing and implementing a treatment plan based on the findings of the evaluations and recommendations of the care manager, advocate and the individual served. (i.e. design of an appropriate behavioral plan).

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD or Clinical or treatment field of Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, Applied Psychology as it relates to human development and clinical intervention, or a related Human services field, or
• National board certification in behavioral analysis (BCBA) or NYS License in Mental Health Counseling and have or will obtain OPWDD-approved specialized training or experience in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans; and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
