Job summary

Hope Human Services is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) to join their Autism Intensive Model (AIM) team within Supported Living for clients in Washington State. The BIS will deliver evidence-based services to individuals with significant communication and behavioral needs and coordinate with care teams to implement person-centered plans.

Responsibilities include data collection, training staff, attending clinical meetings, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • ExperienceWorking with individuals with Autism.
  • 1 year experience as Behavioral Specialist/RBT.
  • Must be able to travel to various program locations.
  • Pass federal and state background checks.
  • Abilityto interface with multiple data collection systems (Therap, Microsoft Forms, Google Suite).

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients on targeted goals using evidence-based practices.
  • Accurately collect/review data and participate in collaboration meetings.
  • Responsible for implementing and training supports.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to meet client needs.
  • Assist with communication alternatives, adaptive equipment, daily routines, and activity schedules.
  • Provide training to Supported Living staff related to the plan and implementation.
  • Attend weekly clinical meetings with the AIM team.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete before meetings.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed before meetings.

the Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) participates asa member of the Autism Intensive Model (AIM) team within SupportedLiving for Hope Human Services clients. This position focuses on deliveringevidence-based practice driven services to clients in Supported Living, andhave an Autism diagnosis. Clients within the AIM program may have a significantdeficit in communication and interaction, and/or repeated behaviors orinterests, that impact their quality of life. AIM program works directly withthe client and their care team to implement a person-driven treatment plan andtraining goals, contriving opportunities to focus on client skill-development.

Behavior Intervention Specialist Job Responsibilities

Behavior Intervention Specialists will be largely based indirect engagement with individuals within their current home environment andcentered on skill-development, data collection, and coaching on appropriatesupports.

Responsibilities include:

  • Workingdirectly with clients on targeted goals and skill-development usingevidence-based practices
  • Accuratelycollecting/reviewing data and participating in collaboration meetings
  • Responsiblefor the implementation and training of supports
  • Workscollaboratively with all other disciplines to ensure all needs are met forthe individuals
  • Consultand assist with implementation of communication alternatives, adaptiveequipment, daily routines, and activity schedules as needed
  • Provide training to Supported Living staff as relatedto the plan and implementation of services
  • Attend weekly clinical meetings with the AIMteam
  • Ensure that all documentation is in place andaccurate prior to the meeting
  • Ensure that all needed “to-dos” are completedprior to the meeting

Position Requirements*

  • Be atleast 21 years of age
  • Haveexperience with individuals with Autism
  • Haveone year experience as a qualified Behavioral Specialist/RBT
  • Mustbe able to travel to various program locations and work flexible hourswhich can include evenings and weekends depending on the needs of theindividuals we support
  • Proofof vehicle insurance and an acceptable driving record
  • Ableto pass federal and state background checks and maintain clearance duringemployment
  • Abilityto interface with multiple data collection systems (e.g. Therap, MicrosoftForms, Google suite, etc.)
