Job summary

Merakey seeks a School Based Behavioral Health Technician to support students in Mount Union, PA. This full-time role provides 1:1 behavioral health services in schools, homes, and community settings, with opportunities for growth and periodic pay increases.

You will deliver evidence-based interventions, communicate with families and school staff, document progress, and participate in training with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related discipline.
• Experience with family systems and working with children and families in a clinical setting preferred.
• Must hold a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• Position located in Huntingdon County at Mount Union Area School District in Mount Union, PA.

Responsibilities

• Implements behavior modification plan developed with family, school and Therapist.
• Intervenes when child exhibits problem behaviors.
• Maintains progress notes and reports to Therapist daily.
• Attends required training and participates in family education.
• Provides services to families to enable active involvement in treatment.
• Maintains communication with families, schools, physicians and other service providers.
• Works flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet caseload needs.

Earn $17.48 Fulltime 40 hours a week

For our Full-Time hourly Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) role, we offer regular compensation increases at 6 months and again at 1 year. This position is a full-time hourly, benefit-eligible roles that includes paid time off, medical coverage, and other comprehensive benefits.

Position Details

At Merakey, you can make a change in the life of a child using evidence-based treatmentsto provide 1:1 direct service in family homes, schools, and community settings. You will have fun and let your personality shine while applying individualized treatment.

Responsibilities include:

• Implements a behavior modification intervention plan developed by the family, school and Therapist.
• Intervenes as needed when the child exhibits problem behaviors.
• Interventions may include removing the child from the area, talking with the child about behaviors, accessing support of parents' procedures and implementing plan procedures indicated with the child, using the appropriate intervention technique.
• Maintains records noting progress and problem areas.
• Reports to Therapist on a daily basis.
• Attends training as required.
• Provides treatment services to families including skills training and education designed to enable families to become actively involved in treatment.
• Maintains regular communication with families, schools, physicians and other service providers involved with the children and family.
• Works flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in order to meet the needs of children and family's caseload. Merakey offers a continuum of care in behavioral health, integrating services in both community and site-based settings. These services provide a wide range of recovery focused treatment, services, and supports for children and adults.
