Job summary

Merakey in York, PA seeks a Behavior Consultant to design and direct individualized behavior modification plans for children and adolescents, coordinating with the treatment team and families. The role emphasizes non-aversive methods and collaborative decision-making.

The ideal candidate will hold a PA Behavior Specialist license or BCBA certification, or a related Master’s degree with relevant clinical experience. A flexible schedule and supervisor support are offered.

Qualifications

• Clinical mental health service experience or practicum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct implementation of individualized behavior modification plans.
• Identify goals, techniques, and non-aversive strategies for behavior change.
• Consult with mobile therapists, provide assessment and program design.
• Maintain direct contact with children and families; participate in team meetings.
• Assist in school-related behavioral planning and cross-system collaboration.

Position Summary

The Behavior Consultant, in collaboration with other members of the treatment team, designs and directs the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan which is individualized to each child or adolescent and family needs. The Behavior Consultant identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods.

The Behavior Consultant Has The Following Key Responsibilities

• Serves as a consultant to the Mobile Therapist within the treatment team.
• Provides assessment, program design, and monitoring, with limited direct therapy.
• Maintains direct contact with the child and family.
• Participates in team meetings regularly.
• Acts as a consultant in special child-centered, family-focused meetings when behavioral issues or conflicts arise in other systems, such as schools (e.g., reviewing behavior paradigms to help the child remain in school).
