Job summary

Grandview Transportation in Missouri seeks a 26-27 Behavior Coach for the 2023-2024 school year. The position is full-time, 6 hours per day, 188 days per year, with hourly pay ranging from $15.60 to $18.26.

The role involves developing transportation behavior plans, de-escalating student behavior, mentoring transportation staff, and coordinating with administrators, teachers and parents to ensure safe, orderly bus rides.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with students, parents, supervisor and fellow workers.

Responsibilities

• Develops transportation behavior plans working collaboratively with administrators, teachers & parents.
• De-escalates and redirects students with encouragement and reinforcement of appropriate behavior and safe riding expectations.
• Adapts to changes and behaviors to meet the student's needs.
• Interacts positively with students and models appropriate behavior.
• Serves as mentor to transportation staff in student management practices.
• Works collaboratively with the Transportation Director and Trainer in planning and executing The Peacful Bus Program.
• Assist students on and off buses, including moving wheelchairs and other devices as required.
• Monitor student behavior while on buses to ensure appropriate conduct.
• Escort students across the street, as needed.
• Assist driver in an emergency or evacuation.
• Check bus before and after each route for students and articles.
• Know the route and give assistance when asked.
• Be aware of the medical needs of students.
