Job Description

The Clinician I will serve as a member of the Adapted Dialectical Behavior Therapy (A-DBT) team, dedicated to addressing the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and comorbid mental health conditions. Clients receiving services are adults with multiple diagnoses and typically present with significant challenging behaviors. Individuals served may also be a part of the Community Protection Program with criminal histories. The Clinician I will operate under the direction of Clinicians II/III and/or the Tacoma Clinical Services Manager to implement programs, education, and skills training and coaching as defined by the individual’s support plan.

  • Support individuals in the A-DBT program through leading both 1:1 and group therapy sessions, with a caseload of up to 10 clients.
  • Use principles of Positive Behavior Support to help individuals meet their goals and improve their quality of life
  • Plan and attend social events out in the community for individuals in the program
  • Provide training and support to direct care staff and members of the operations team.
  • Work directly with in home staff to provide support to individuals in behavioral crises.
  • Work rotational on call to provide crisis management support as needed by phone.
  • Write reports and case notes using Therap, Microsoft Excel, and OneDrive.
  • Communicate and coordinate with outside providers (therapists, etc.) and clients' families.

Qualifications:

** What Makes You A Great Fit:**

  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses is required (examples include but are not limited to: mental health or behavior technician, skills trainer, lead direct support professional, previous experience working in supported living, in-patient treatment center, homeless shelter, etc.)
  • BA in related field such as psychology preferred
  • Valid driver's license with ability to use personal vehicle on the job
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to work independently to problem-solve effectively
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
