Job summary

Stanford Sierra Youth & Families seeks a qualified MHRS-eligible professional to join our team. This role emphasizes writing clear progress notes, developing individualized family plans, attending weekly meetings, and maintaining accurate records in a dynamic TBS environment.

You will work with children and families, identify strengths, monitor behavior with Functional Behavioral Analysis, and collaborate across agency programs. Flexible hours and confidentiality/safety compliance are expected.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 2+ years of approved MHRS-experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of approved MHRS-experience.
  • Associate's degree with 6+ years of approved MHRS-experience.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Writes clear, accurate, and timely progress notes for each contact/visit.
  • Participates in development of individualized family plans with the TBS team.
  • Attends weekly staff, consultation, and case management meetings.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records and adheres to policies.
  • Works to build positive relationships with children, families, and community programs.
  • Uses behavioral data and Functional Behavioral Analysis to guide changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in a related field AND at least 2 years of approved experience* OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND at least 4 years of approved experience* OR
  • Associate's degree AND a minimum of 6 years of approved experience*
  • Spanish Speaking Preferred

*Approved experience is experience that qualifies the applicant for Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) status in the County Children’s Mental Health System of Care. Graduate education may be substituted for the experience on a year for year basis

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Position Specific

  • Writes clear, accurate, and timely progress notes consistent with each contact/visit
  • Participates in the development of individualized family plans with other members of the TBS team
  • Attends weekly staff meetings, consultation, and case management meetings as scheduled
  • Accountable for individual time management
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with agency and community programs
  • Utilizes resources to utilize behavior interventions and strategies
  • Forms positive, constructive relationships with children and their families
  • Identifies strengths, skills, and positive qualities in children and families
  • Identifies temporary and sustainable resources and services within family and community environments
  • Observes and evaluates behavior, then completes a Functional Behavioral Analysis
  • Utilizes the Functional Behavioral Analysis to implement change programming
  • Records behavioral data to ensure accurate tracking of target behavior change
  • Makes recommendations to modify goals as indicated by behavioral data
  • Makes recommendations for all phases of treatment, including termination of TBS services
  • Maintains accurate and timely records
  • Follows all agency policies and procedures
  • Follows all agency, State and Federal health and safety rules and regulations
  • Seeks out clinical information and advice as needed, accepts constructive feedback and reasonable recommendations from supervisor
  • Maintains ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the families

Agency Specific

  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
  • Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
  • Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

Employment At-Will
Employment at the Agency is terminable at-will, which means that employment may be
terminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency. In
addition the Agency may also demote, layoff, transfer or reassign employees at any time at its
sole discretion without cause or reason.

Compensation

This position may be filled at any level listed in this posting. Level determination is based on the role’s minimum qualifications and the candidate’s directly relevant experience and scope of responsibility.

The posted salary bands represent the full pay range for each role and reflect opportunities for compensation growth over time. The typical hiring ranges reflect where we reasonably expect to make offers to new hires based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Level I
  • Typical hiring range: $30.80 – $36.30 per hour
  • Full salary band: $30.80 – $44.00 per hour
Level II
  • Typical hiring range: $77,792 – $90,200 per year
  • Full salary band: $77,792 – $99,000 per year

Compensation offers are made through our established compensation framework to promote fairness, consistency, and internal equity.
